Getting clear about your future direction has been a big issue in recent times, and especially because of the restless planetary battle between the planet of innovation Uranus which is governing your finances and creating unpredictability, the destiny orientated location of karmic powers of Pluto, and the hard headed impact of Saturn on close alliances, property and business affairs. So what will make this year different. Well, you could start of 2013, clearing up quite a few loose ends, and perhaps also this means coming to terms with elements of your past.

However, early in February Mars moves into your sign, and whilst this may sap your strength for a week or so, as it combines with your ruler, soon enough you will be on the front foot. And this year can see you starting to expand, quite a few strands of your situation, but progress will come from and openness to knowledge. Now this may see you formally learning new skills, or deploying experience you have gained in recent years. If you can apply this way of looking at what you eat and drink and how you exercise, you can really make the most of Saturn's transit through your 9th Solar House.

Yet there may be some clashes, particularly in early May, where you may encounter someone more forceful, or more opinionated  Be sure of measuring your words carefully then or else a legal dispute could follow. June however, sees the wonderful powers of Jupiter start to work its magic. This will be a real pep, right through to the end of the year, and see you feeling livelier and more sociable, and more in the mood to pitch into activities with others. This desire for engagement is boosted again with the Solar Eclipse on November 3rd, and you can be really determined to make progress, whatever obstacles you meet but also get fitter in the process.

Your co-ruler Uranus has been causing quite a stir ever since it moved into Aries on a longer term basis, in March 2011. Now this in itself can be very positive for you, especially if you a born in the first 10 days of Aquarius, because this is the planet that stirs innovation, but it is also a very restless influence, and is an insight into the kind of switchback in mood and mode that many Water Carriers experience on a fairly regular basis.

The downside is that the nervous energy is generates has been turned up to max, and there may well have been a lot more sleepless nights, headaches, and circulatory issues to contend with. Part of the problem has been its tight right angle with Pluto, which lasted broadly for seven months of 2012, through to the end of October. And the side of you which likes to be logical and detached battled with the forces that Pluto was stirring in the deepest part of your psyche governing fears, anxiety or self-doubt. Also you may have had a crash course about fair-weather friendships.

With criticisms often coming to you third, not even second hand. But this year, begins with a real posse of planets looking to get you off on a better footing, not least the force field known as Mars. This will give you a real determination and drive from the off. Saturn has also moved out of your sector of expansion into that of responsibilities, so stresses and strains this year, may come because you are doing so well, but you will need to have some external diversions to help you to deal with these.

Jupiter is on-side all year, but in two different ways. Through to June, giving you an appreciation of fun and sociability, and in the last half of the year, giving your health a veritable boost. It ain't going to be perfect Aquarius, but with added financial progress, this can help you to step up in ways, which in the past may have seemed closed to you.

How are your nerves Capricorn? They may well have spent many of the months jangling last year, as a number of T Squares, one of the toughest of planetary influences, bore down on your sign, and primarily on the powerful Pluto, now a resident with you, for the last four years. Now, whether life pressures came from work, loot, lust or just through deep personal issues, the outcome has probably been similar, with too much responsibility and not enough help. So what's a Goat boy or girl to do in 2013? Well, the answer is delegate.

Now I know this is easy to say, and may not always be absolutely appropriate to your personal scenario, but there are a whole raft of benefits to tap into if you can reach out to others, work closely with them, and embrace the concept of co-operation. But...this may also mean giving up a bit of your power base.

Accepting that others can do as well as you, even if not quite in the same order, could prove really liberating. Furthermore, enjoying linking with others through clubs, activities, and sports teams can be a great way to tune up your body into better shape. And of course, it won't all be perfect, and a few friends could turn out to disappoint you, but one person from June can turn out to be a major asset to you, and you can urge one another on to better and bigger things! Now, I must be truthful, and some of the politics that occurred last year may make a return from October, but this time you will be much better versed to deal with them, and it will be the quality of your associations that prove so important to your welfare in the last quarter.

One of your great traits is your thirst for information. Many Archers have an inexhaustible desire for knowledge, but this is often "about things". This year, you can gain a lot health and fitness wise by turning this side of your nature on the inner dimension of life. Now more spiritually, this can see you start to look at the world through a quite different lens than from in the past.

You can find yourself more serious, for example. This doesn't mean that there won't be any play time, but whether it is friendships, work, emotional life or fitness activities, you might not pitch into things with the same gay abandon you have before. Now you will want to appreciate the meaning of things, in a much more profound way. This can see you turn your back on less frivolous areas of life, not completely, but getting in touch with what is really important becomes quite a clarion call. Someone can act as a catalyst for this, this could be a friend, or it can be some kind of mentor or advisor.

From a food perspective, you might find yourself keener on whole foods or organic merchandise. Cutting back on other consumer treats, can create the extra money for these. Your exercise interests may also change. Anything linked with water, be it swimming, water aerobics, windsurfing, rowing, or walking the dog by a nice calming lake or river, can all take on added appeal. Watch out for work strains in May, and don't assume that everyone is sincere, for some intrigue can blight your year. Your intimate relationships can be complex from June, and anything to do with shared resources can impact on your peace of mind. Look to create tranquillity, relaxation and if need be, mediation, whenever possible in 2013.

This is probably going to be one of the most important years of your life. Sound ominous? Well it needn't be. But the cycles of Saturn are not to be sniffed at, and whilst this planet joined you last October, it is going to make its presence really felt this year. However, last November's Solar Eclipse in your sign was an encouragement for you to embrace new beginnings and new approaches. Surf this energy through to April of 2012.

One of the less well appreciated sides to your nature, is that you can be a creature of routine. Are all yours as healthy as they might be? If not, this is a good time to evaluate and start to simplify your approach to life. If that means giving up some things that have been mainstays in the past, then so be it. As Saturn twists backwards from March to mid-July, you may find that life feels quite restrictive. This can affect your spirits, as well as your energy, and the only way to deal with this is to cut back on the non-essential activities or the less virtuous elements of your life.

The Solar Eclipse of May is a point in case. It shines back across the heavens to face Saturn. Relationships around then may not be a barrel of laughs, and particularly any which in the past, you may have taken for granted. If you have tended to be the dominate person in a union, your partner may challenge this. If you have tended to be more centred on your own needs, someone somewhere may steal a Scorpio tactic off you, and tell you, very bluntly, how they feel. None of this is going to be great for your ego or confidence, but you can learn a great deal about yourself and how people see you.

Fortunately, as Jupiter powers into your 9th Solar House in June, things can open up. You can see setbacks more as lessons to be gained from, rather than be clattered by. Unfortunately, from October, your co-ruler Pluto resumes its argument with Uranus, so expect some added tension in the last quarter. More positively, a fab Solar Eclipse in your sign on November 3rd, can see you begin to make sense of all you have encountered thus far.

The great thing to celebrate this year, is that not only has Saturn left your zodiac sign, but also Uranus and Pluto are not going to be nagging away at your peace of mind, quite as sharply as they have for periods of the last two years, well not at least until later in the year. So hopefully the year's first nine months will see a less unsettled and unpredictable time - especially for your vitality, and for your general interactions with other people. It begins in fine style with Mars setting the pace, giving you vim and verve. Mercury and Venus then push things along in the first three weeks of February before the first Mercury retrograde urges you not to overdo things, for three weeks.

Now, Saturn doesn't disappear, it just has a new sphere of influence, and this asks you to count the calories from mid-February to early July. Now of course, being a stylish Libra, the odd tasty morsel is impossible to resist, but with Jupiter bigging up your appetite for life...well, you get the picture. Then there is a Solar Eclipse on 10th May, which is trickier, and especially if balancing the books is proving challenging, or a close intimate relationship is not quite going to plan. If so, these kind of issues can affect your peace of mind. Fortunately, Neptune can help you to navigate this by adjusting your hopes and expectations, and especially of other people.

Jupiter moves and can revive your ambitions, but the Lunar Eclipse in October and Uranus and Pluto tussling again, cautions you to steer clear of anyone who does little to nurture and support you. Finances, rewards and luxuries can be catapulted forwards better from early December, and in turn you can find yourself in the mood to get more active.

Your sign is governed by the irrepressible energies of Mercury. Your gift is for using the nimble mind powers of Mercury practically. Your powers of discretion help you to sort the wheat from the chaff just about better than any other zodiac sign. You spot things, the rest of us don't see. However, this year, there is going to be a lot more nervous energy and business circulating around the heavens for you.

Now, on paper this sounds great, but at times this could leave you feeling drained, and even if you are a natural night owl, everybody needs their beauty sleep - me more than most, and this is something you're going to need to top up at every opportunity. So why is this? The location of Saturn and its retrograde for over five months from mid-February, and the Solar Eclipse of May 2012, are all intrinsically linked to your destiny. More so, because that Solar Eclipse in May is opposite Saturn, a very important astral reference point, one which provides a backdrop of energies through to October. And if you are wanting to open up your world, travel, train, absorb new ways of looking at life, someone, somewhere, may try to stop you. This could be someone close, it could be an authority figure or it could be rules and regulations. And the rule of law can be important too.

Any obstacles like this may prove incredibly frustrating and very stressful. Even everyday conversations could get blighted by politics and rancour. So, find outlets that earth you down. One's that take your mind of all this. Therapeutic massage or reflexology, will be great for your body or pamper yourself with long hot soaks in the tub, and learn to switch off!
