The great thing to celebrate this year, is that not only has Saturn left your zodiac sign, but also Uranus and Pluto are not going to be nagging away at your peace of mind, quite as sharply as they have for periods of the last two years, well not at least until later in the year. So hopefully the year's first nine months will see a less unsettled and unpredictable time - especially for your vitality, and for your general interactions with other people. It begins in fine style with Mars setting the pace, giving you vim and verve. Mercury and Venus then push things along in the first three weeks of February before the first Mercury retrograde urges you not to overdo things, for three weeks.

Now, Saturn doesn't disappear, it just has a new sphere of influence, and this asks you to count the calories from mid-February to early July. Now of course, being a stylish Libra, the odd tasty morsel is impossible to resist, but with Jupiter bigging up your appetite for life...well, you get the picture. Then there is a Solar Eclipse on 10th May, which is trickier, and especially if balancing the books is proving challenging, or a close intimate relationship is not quite going to plan. If so, these kind of issues can affect your peace of mind. Fortunately, Neptune can help you to navigate this by adjusting your hopes and expectations, and especially of other people.

Jupiter moves and can revive your ambitions, but the Lunar Eclipse in October and Uranus and Pluto tussling again, cautions you to steer clear of anyone who does little to nurture and support you. Finances, rewards and luxuries can be catapulted forwards better from early December, and in turn you can find yourself in the mood to get more active.

Libra Health

Libra rules the excretory functions through the kidneys and skin, lumbar region, buttocks, adrenals and vasomotor system. Libra rules the kidneys, lower back and ovaries. Lower back pain, and problems caused by too much sugar or rich food are common health problems.

Libran Women do not have a well-developed immunity system. Infectious of various kinds will trouble them through out the life. Kidneys, lever and uterus are some of the weak areas for Libra.

Most Libra individuals have sensitive skin that easily shows the effects brought about by lack of sleep, rich food and too much alcohol.

There is an inherent fondness for rich and sugary foods. They need to avoid overindulgence in food and especially drink, which can particularly harm the kidneys. These are persons who can forget to take proper care of them.

Astrological Health Profile

In medical astrology, Libra governs the kidneys, bladder, the ureters, lower back, lumbar region of the spine, and the skin and are thus prone to diseases and disorders of these body parts and organs in particular, and the following diseases and disorders in general:

  • Sugar Addiction
  • Alcoholism
  • Lumbago
  • Bright's Disease
  • Incontinence
  • Nephritis (inflammation of the kidneys)
  • Eczema
  • Acne
  • Diabetes
  • Kidney disease
  • Bladder infection
  • Urinary Tract Infection
  • Adrenal gland problems
  • Venereal disease
  • Ovarian problems
Medical astrologer Judith Hill states the following about Libra:
"The vitality of Libra is excellent and the natives are rarely sick. Many Librans demonstrate a curious ability of being able to live off sugar and junk food for years, appearing none the worse for it. Libra gives a relaxed, easygoing chi force and muscular strength independent of exercise. The love of sugar and utter disregard of the laws of health may eventually undo them, as the kidneys and alkaline balance of the blood are sensitive in this sign. Libra would perhaps be the healthiest sign of all, if only its natives took an interest in health matters.
Dietary Considerations

The necessary cell salt of Libra is Carbonate of Sodium or Sodium Carbonate. Librans need to take care of their urinary system (kidneys, bladder, ureters) and lower back.

Libras should avoid eating much meat and dairy products as they are acid forming and impair kidney function. No meat and dairy is best, but if you do choose to consume these products, the less you eat of them - the better! They also need to watch their sugar consumption.
